Being a woman in the West is a great privilege. I say this objectively, even though I clearly see that there are women who experience gender discrimination, in their families and at work. Or worse, they suffer psychological or physical violence, or have given up their dreams and projects, prioritizing family and children.
For the woman I have become today, I must thank my mother who taught me the dignity a woman must have, but above all, never to tolerate outrageous behavior towards oneself or another woman. She taught me to fight for my ideals and for justice. I thank every incredible woman I have been fortunate enough to meet in my life. The women who taught me the most were precisely those who lived in suffering, who rebelled and took control of their lives.
Honor yourself and all the women you know, with a gift to take care of your body, mind, and spirit!
Today I want to share a thought written by a woman whom I deeply love and respect.
She has dedicated her life to others, without ever losing her essence as a woman: strong, proud, wise, and kind, yet firm in her convictions and ideas.
Always keep in mind that skin wrinkles, hair turns white, days turn into years...
But what is important is not to change; your strength and your conviction have no age.
Your spirit is the glue of any spiderweb.
Behind every finish line, there is a starting line.
Behind every success, there is another disappointment.
As long as you are alive, feel alive. If you miss what you used to do, go back to doing it.
Don't live off yellowed photographs. Persist even if everyone expects you to give up.
Don't let the iron within you rust.
Make sure that instead of pity, they give you respect.
When due to age you cannot run, walk fast.
When you cannot walk fast, walk.
When you cannot walk, use a cane.
But never hold back!
